The parish church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in Adamów

The parish church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Adamów, a 19th-century neo-Baroque church with a beautiful interior and a brick bell tower that is also a vantage point. The center of the main altar features an image of Christ on the Cross, with Our Lady of Sorrows with seven swords piercing the heart and Our Lady of Czestochowa above it. The side altars are dedicated to St. Nicholas and the Heart of Jesus, and there is also an image of St. Anthony of Padua. The church was an observation point during the Battle of Kock and Wola Gułowska in 1939. The temple was described by Henryk Sienkiewicz in his novella “Jamiol”.
