Aleksander Świętochowski (1849–1938) - born in Stoczek Łukowski, Polish writer, philosopher and historian, aphorist, critic, political publicist and social activist. He used pseudonyms: Władysław Okoński, Messenger of Truth, O. Remus and many others. He was one of the leading ideologists and leaders of Warsaw positivism.
