Antoni Dmochowski (1896–1983) - Polish biochemist born in Sarnów, founder of the Łódź school of biochemistry, pioneer of nucleic acid chemistry in Poland. his research at the Rockefeller Institute in New York contributed to the discovery of the structure of nucleotides and DNA acid. He was a member of the Polish Physiological Society and a founding member of the Polish Biochemical Society, which, in recognition of his achievements, made him an Honorary Member. In 1995, the award was established. Professor Antoni Dmochowski for teaching achievements. In 1970, he received an honorary doctorate in natural sciences.
